About Jennifer DeRosa

The Beginning of Web Development:
HTML Classes at Providence Collge in 1994

After graduating from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelors of Arts in Speech Communication in 1991, Jennifer worked for the Marriott Corporation Washington D.C. and then moved back to Connecticut in 1992 to work for a small wine importer.

In 1994, Jennifer DeRosa, began taking HTML classes at night for fun at Providence College while she sold wine during the day. Building websites was a love of hers, and she began hand coding websites in notepad for her extended family so that they could all keep up on what was going on with each other after logging on through dial up to AOL, Earthlink or some other service.

Formation of Executive Pages and TechCare Website Development and IT Support Agencies

In 1997, while working at ENTEX, Jennifer formed Executive Pages, LLC, her first web development agency!  She built her first websites for clients in the law industry.

In 2000, Jennifer left ENTEX and branched out as her own IT MSP consultant for a plethora of clients in lower Fairfield County in addition to building websites for select clients.  Because she was working with so many new clients as their IT support, she opened a new company, TechCare, LLC in March of 2001.  Jennifer continued to grow TechCare, LLC taking on new clients and supporting their desktops, servers and infrastructure as well as their brand new first-ever websites!

As the technology industry grew and became more specialized, Jennifer decided to follow her love and expertise of building websites and focus exclusively on website development for small and medium businesses. She transitioned most of her clients to new IT support agencies from 2004 - 2007 so that she could focus on providing amazing website support under TechCare.

Growth of TechCare Website Development Agency

The mid-2000s was a time when businesses were catching up with the world of the Internet.  Jennifer began to grow TechCare as a Web Development Agency as more and more businesses realized they needed to have a presence online.

TechCare grew and more developers and designers were hired to support their amazing clients.

Around 2008, TechCare moved most of their clients to the WordPress platform from Dreamweaver/Contribute.  TechCare grew with WordPress side-by-side.

During these years, Jennifer was a frequent speaker at events such as local WordPress Meetups, Library functions, SCORE, as well as others.

Jennifer also traveled the country to attend WordCamps and WooCamps, as well as addending and running WordPress Meetups in the local area.  She began attending trade shows as well in different industries, promoting TechCare as the best web development firm for small and medium businesses.

I learned so much from Jennifer and her company ..

Jennifer has taught me how to be effective with my website! It was very important to me that my website look clean and professional and my dessert pictures look sharp and inviting. I learned so much from Jennifer and her company on how to manage uploading pictures and changing text on my site. She is a wonderful and patient teacher while teaching me all the ins and outs of web design.
